CHALLENGES IN THE CONSTRUCTION AND OPERATION OF WASTE WATER TREATMENT PLANTS

On 26th November 2013 the scientific-practical conference “Challenges in the Construction and Operation of Waste Water Treatment Plants”, organized by the Bulgarian Water Association and the Bulgarian Construction Chamber will be held in Sofia. Topics that will be openly defined and discussed at the event are important issues from the field of waste water treatment in settlements, like: Defining the best available technologies, The quality of the projects proposed for financial support and the criteria for their assessment; The role of the institutions in charge - parliamentary committees, the central administration, the municipalities, the water supply and sewerage companies and the non-governmental branch organizations, for speeding up the processes connected to the development of the water supply and sewerage sector, etc.

The conference gives the opportunity for public presentation of the views and intentions of the institutions in charge, water supply and sewerage companies, designers, builders and non-governmental branch organizations, as well as introduction of the best technologies and practices on the part of the invited famous foreign experts. The topics of the conference are: The status of the wastewater sector in the country - financing, design, construction and operation; The best available technologies - Bulgarian and foreign; Successful realization - Bulgarian and foreign cases. The Deputy Prime Minister of Eurofunds and the ministers of regional development, environment and water, and of investment planning are invited as special guests.
